We Heart Astoria Food Talk, 10/3/12

Although there’s never any dry spells when new food news is involved, this week’s edition looks especially fruitful, with two different Supper Clubs, Queens Restaurant Week, new restaurant openings and more.  What’s on your Astoria/LIC food radar lately?

It’s that time again for Queens Restaurant Week, which is such a fun showcase of all the culinary deliciousness of this borough.  The official time frame is from October 8-11 and then also from October 15-18, where 125 restaurants participate in special prix-fixe menus.  Feel free to try more than a few things from these participating restaurants.

Our friend Tamara Reynolds’ Sunday Night Dinner series is actually happening this Saturday, October 6th and the menu will be all Italian in honor of Columbus Day.  Reserve your seat here.

A bit different from Tamara’s dinner, LIC Market is also having a supper club the following week on Saturday, October 13th, consisting of their characteristic local, fresh and seasonal food.  21-52 44th Drive, LIC.  718.361.0013

We’re excited to welcome two culinary newcomers to Astoria and LIC, which have recently received a lot of press.  One is MP Taverna, which will open on Ditmars in November/early December and the other is M.
