Here’s a good intro: LIC Arts Open is an exciting celebration of the thriving arts community in Long Island City, Queens. Featuring 200+ Open Studios, Painting, Sculpture, Music, Dance, Theater, and more. The event is organized by the LIC Arts Open organization, a collaboration of arts entities, businesses and individuals seeking to spotlight the diverse artistic community in LIC. This year local Astorian, Lizabeth Nieves is showing some of her amazingly moody photographs at Bread Box Cafe (47-11 11th St.) Mark your calendars now, her opening reception is Tuesday, May 15th from 6-9pm. I can’t wait to see more of her work on the 15th- see you there?
