Looks like things are really changing. 23rd Avenue, which recently saw the addition of Baby Noir, is now getting a new shop & playspace called Raising Astoria! Founded by two Astorian mothers, Laurie Nicholson and Kimberly Rossignol, Raising Astoria will sell new and slightly used maternity and children’s items on consignment as well as offer a variety of classes for parents and children. Look for classes in music, foreign language & art, parent support groups, and seminars for both new and expecting parents at the new space. Says Nicholson, “we wanted to create a sense of community for Astoria parents, something both Kim and I found incredibly important, even pivotal, to our ability to be the best mothers we could.” Well said ladies! Join them for their grand opening party Saturday, March 3rd from 4-7pm. They will have complimentary wine and appetizers and kids are invited to visit their Lillypad Learning Lab. There will be door prizes as well! Welcome to the neighborhood, Raising Astoria!
