Judith Hearts the Jumping Bulldog

Whether you currently have a pet at home or are a pet lover, you’ve probably heard of the very adorable Astoria pet boutique called The Jumping Bulldog.  I couldn’t speak more highly about this cheery, friendly place, owned by Tanja Firrigno and her furry accomplice, Oskar the bulldog.  What a duo! These two, along with other friendly employees make this place a welcome spot for your all-inclusive pet care products and services.  And if you’re just in the neighborhood and want to see some adorable furry pals, you can stop in and enjoy the company of these playful pets.

Just this week, I was informed that The Jumping Bulldog has relaunched their website.  I automatically checked it out and loved what I saw – not only the most scrumptious pictures of dogs and cats, but also helpful information about their products and services.  We strongly encourage you to check it out and meet Oskar and Tanja themselves.  They’re sort of the unofficial mayors of 23rd Avenue, I like to say.

And here are some more things we heart about The Jumping Bulldog.:

Atmosphere:  An approachable, medium-sized boutique that’s merchandised beautifully, providing a rich variety of products, and even organic pet brands.  Everything is very colorful, and I especially love the cute little outfits they carry to spruce up your pet’s appearance.

Services: Besides the friendly service you’ll receive from any JB employee, there’s something very personal about this place.  Pet owners are encouraged to bring their animals in and Tanja even hosts a select number of events throughout the year.  Sign up for their mailing list and you’ll surely receive the deets.

Costs:  Very competitive, especially in comparison to all mainstream pet stores and small boutiques. Organic pet food is about 10% cheaper.

The Mascot: Oskar is just the cutest thing – he’s sweet, lovable and adores attention.  And he loves a good belly scratch!
