Echoes is a collaborative project created by Queens artists Always Blessd and Domingo Carrasco. The paintings exhibited celebrate the artistic traditions of ancient and modern Mexican culture. For more than 2,000 years the native peoples of Mexico created art that functioned to reflect their diverse world. With art being heavily tied to religion, the natural world and daily life, these aesthetic traditions were a central component to their way of being. Echoes examines some of the culture’s early imagery while exploring the link between its past and its present.
