Code-Switching: Writing from Multiple Selves w/ Rosebud Ben-Oni (Newtown Literary free writing class series)

Newtown Literary free writing class in partnership with Queens Library, thanks to the support of NYC Council Member Daniel Dromm: “Code-Switching: Writing from Multiple Selves.”

Author Rosebud Ben-Oni (SOLECISM, Virtual Artists Collective, 2013) will examine how slang and dialect help shape and develop our range of voices in poetry and the poetic self. Through a series of writing exercises and examining the work of existing poets such as Tara Betts and Cornelius Eady, you’ll uncover how these identities can make your work more distinct and innovative.

Free and open to the public!
