Stopping to eat delicious cupcakes along the running route? That’s one way to keep runners motivated!

Yes, it’s time for the 7th Annual NYC Cupcake Run this Saturday, October 12 in Astoria Park!

The course is a full 5K, with stops at three cupcakes stations along the route by Butter Lane. Favlors include: Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Maple Pecan, Honey Cinnamon, Coconut, Caramel, Espresso, Cream Cheese, & the “Elvis” (Peanut Butter on Banana Cake)!

The current course record is 17:52, which was set in 2017…if you’re the competitive type :)

And if the run itself wasn’t enough fun, there will be an after party at Rocky McBride’s. Admission includes one free drink (in addition to a Cupcake Run t-shirt and Cupcake Run tote bag).

Founder Jason Feirman says, “It’s crazy that this quirky event is still going strong after seven years. We’ll keep putting it on until New Yorkers are tired of cupcakes and running…which is to say hopefully we’ll have many more races to come.”

And if you somehow still need more motivation to participate, it’s all for a good cause: a portion of the proceeds from the event support NY Cares–the city’s largest volunteer network.

Tickets are $45 if you buy within the next 12 hours, and after are $60. BUT, the NYC Cupcake Run Team is sharing an exclusive discount offer with WHA readers: you can save 40 percent off tickets with code: WEHEARTASTORIA.

Let us know in the comments if you’ve participated in the past or plan to this year!
