A little while back one of our staffers put out a social media call for restaurant suggestions for a big group dinner–and you guys came through with lots of wonderful suggestions! We narrowed down the list a bit and are sharing with you now. So, if you have a birthday coming up, an anniversary party or just want to have a reunion with all your college pals, here are the best places to go with a group.

Mostly based on large spaces and long tables, we also would suggest giving a call beforehand to make a reservation or at least let them know you’re coming with a larger party.

If you have any other faves, let us know what they are (and why they are good for large groups) in the comments below!

Aliada

2919 Broadway, Astoria
Why it’s good: Better for groups in the summer and early fall, Aliada has lots of tables outdoors on the sidewalk.
3-19 Broadway, Astoria
Why it’s good: Amylos boasts a large interior space as well as outdoor sidewalk seating. A wide variety of Greek small plates like moussaka croquettes, smoked meatballs and spreads like hummus and tzatziki are perfect for sharing.

Why it’s good: Large tables as well as long banquets along windows overlooking the waterfront make Blend the perfect spot for a group dinner in style.

Butcher Bar

37-10 30th Ave, Astoria

Why it’s good: Snag one of the long side benches, or staff can push all center tables together to make one large buffet.

The Ditty

3503 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria
Why it’s good: The Ditty’s covered patio space is great for groups (especially if you take over the back platform), and they also have a large booth at the front window perfect for the gang.

Maizal

Why it’s good: Long banquets on either side allow you push tables together for parties of any size. And guac is just meant to be shared, isn’t it?

Milkflower

34-12 31st Ave, Astoria

Why it’s good: Though the interior is fairly small, Milkflower has a large picnic table on their back patio that is perfect for a group (if you snag it first!). Make pizzas the opposite of “personal” pies with a few choices for the table.

22-36 31st St, Astoria
Why it’s good: Mojave has a large table going down the middle, plus lots of outdoor seating.

Queens Comfort

36-18 30th Ave, Astoria
Why it’s good: Okay, you’ll likely have to wait on a long line if you have a big group, but with dirty jokes while you wait, it’s not so bad! Plus BYOB, a DJ, nostalgic decor and a one-of-a-kind menu, it’s the perfect place to invite friends.

Tacuba

35-01 36th St, Queens
Why it’s good: Tacuba has such a large indoor space for Astoria that you’ll likely always find a seat. They have outdoor tables as well.
