As is the custom at the end of the year on many sites, we decided to look back and evaluate what posts and dates were big on We Heart Astoria in 2017. Here are our findings (lowest to highest with regard to traffic), and as always, thanks for reading We Heart Astoria!

The name of the game was summer with our annual post, 50+ Things To Do This Summer in Astoria and Long Island City (2017 Edition). This was a big hit with Astorians and brought in a lot of visitors on these two days.

Tuesday, July 5

Summer love continued with 20+ Places to Hang Out with Big Groups in Astoria, where we were able to show off fun places that could accommodate larger friends and family gatherings.

Friday, September 22

Jolted back to reality, it was How to Plan for the N/W Subway Apocalypse that caught your attention. It never hurts to be prepared. Plus, it was a great venue for understandable venting. And we get to use that crazy subway image below.

Back to the warmest month of summer, we announced our Secret Summer 2017 party on Facebook that day and we were thrilled to have celebrated with you!

Saturday, Feb 18

The Queens Kickshaw (RIP) showed their love for community early in 2017, which would lead to a year of increased political awareness among many Astorians. We amplified their message with Women’s (month of) March Fundraisers at The Queens Kickshaw.
