If you’ve been reading We Heart Astoria for any length of time, you know we are big fans of APAC, the Astoria Performing Arts Center, a nonprofit, award-winning theater organization right here in the neighborhood. We love the work they do for the local arts and theater community, and they help make Astoria and the Kaufman Arts District (their offices are in Kaufman Astoria Studios!) the vibrant place it is.

Their work in the theatre includes main stage productions of both revivals and premieres of new plays and musicals, some developed through readings and workshops. And their hard work has paid off with recognitions by the theater community—they have received over 40 New York Innovative Theatre Award nominations with nine wins, as well as an Off-Off Broadway Theatre Review Award.
