The Jumping Bulldog, which opened in 2008, has closed its doors for good—at least the retail location, which was the original location at 28-10 23rd Ave. They sold all sorts of things your pet could use, like food, treats, carriers, leashes and more; I discovered a wonderful wet cat food there that my kitties could not get enough of (for a while—you know cats). And it was always a delight to see the shop cats and dogs there, too, especially the kitty who loved pennies. That said, The Jumping Bulldog is moving all their operations to the second location. We reached out to Tania Firrigno to get the full story about the changes and move, and here’s what she told us: “At this point the retail location has closed it’s doors for good. However, we are moving to the other location [26-20 23rd Ave], where we will continue our services, including grooming, daycare and boarding (with a new price structure), just on a smaller scale. We will continue to offer retail but are changing over to treats and necessities and a limited number of foods for our clients. “In addition, we will be bringing in a licensed vet on a weekly basis for wellness examinations and vaccinations at a very low price point. We expect to open our doors again on Monday, May 1, and we will be ready for daycare and boarding services again as of Wednesday, May 3.” We wish Tania and her team all the best as they make this transition.
