fusion-13The last time the We Heart Astoria team stopped in Fusion Juice Bar it was a frigid, snowy, February day. At the time Fusion was relatively new to the scene. A lot has changed from that last tasting date. This go-round we enjoyed light summer-turning-into-fall breezes, and we did our tasting at Fusion’s second location. The juices and smoothies were just as good as we remembered, and this time we got to try out some new menu items. Check out some of our fruity favorites, and some new menu items now available. (pictured above: cold pressed juices that you can take to-go to enjoy at home, work, whenever)

fusion-6_Almond Butter bowlFirst and foremost we started our tasting with the Almond Butter bowl. A true favorite of mine, now that the new Fusion location is closer to me, I can get this bowl whenever I want. A layer of cold Acai blend, layered with strawberries, bananas, kiwi, granola, blueberries, with a dollop of Almond butter on top. This is makes a great breakfast or afternoon snack. I’ve had it for both. Just thinking about it makes me want to order one…

vegan nachosCalling all Vegans these nachos are for you. A salty, crisp chip topped with black beans, pico de gallo, a vegan sauce that made a more than respectable cheese substitute, with guacamole on top! This might be designed with Vegans in mind, but Omnivores are welcome to chow down on these too!

fusion-30A natural addition to the Fusion Juice menu is salads. The one we gave a whirl was the Mexican Chopped salad. Avocado, tomato, corn, onion, red bell pepper, feta cheese, and cilantro lime dressing. By this time this dish came out, we were full, but I took this home to the ole hubby, and he loved it.

fusion_ginger soupSoup season is right around the corner, if you love carrots and a strong ginger, this soup might be right for you. Personally speaking, this soup was a little too much ginger for me; it had an almost medicinal taste. I might want something like this if I had a cold; I think that ginger would taste more appealing if I was under the weather. However if you love ginger give it a try.

smoothiesThere are a lot of other new items on the menu, along with fan favorites, it all adds up to fresh, healthy, and delicious If you are checking out Fusion Juice Bar make sure you take advantage of our We Heart Astoria deal!
