A WHA reader sent us this snap of a new bubble tea joint, The Teapsy New York (click to enlarge):

Teapsy is apparently the word meaning “drunk on tea.”

I’ve done a little research and there is really nothing on the internet regarding Teapsy and that logo. However, there is a Teapsy Cafe located in Alberta, Canada, but the branding is very different; I can’t confirm that the Alberta location is related to this one.

As you can see, aside from bubble tea, The Teapsy New York will offer tea lattes, “cocktail inspired layer tea’s,” smoothies, and pastries. Sounds like it could be a nice place to hang out in (I bet they’ll have wifi), meet a friend, and enjoy some relaxing time.

This space used to be a random tax return processing spot and a “high speed internet center.” It was also a dentist’s office for a time. Looking at the Department of Buildings site, I’ve learned that they’ve been spending time removing some asbestos. This is not a bad thing in my book.

Here’s hoping they’ll open in a few months.
