I dug into our analytics this week to find out the top 5 posts you all checked out this year. And here they are! Looks like the things that caught your collective eyes were Astoria’s best, brunch, celebrities, street fairs, and summer fun.

5. Best of Astoria 2013 Winners

This was a bit of a surprise, that the original Best of Astoria winners list was so well visited this year. But that’s awesome, too! If you’d like to see the BOA winners for subsequent years, here are the lists for 2014 and 2015. And look for 2016’s Best of Astoria project in the new year!

3. Lady Gaga is in Astoria Tonight Celebrating Restaurant Opening, The Pomeroy

I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga, from her bizarro costumes, edgy stunts, and work with pure pop music, to her collaborations with Tony Bennett—she’s got real talent. It was so nice of her to visit new restaurant The Pomeroy on opening night, owned and operated by her childhood friend, Bo O’Connor, right here in Astoria on Ditmars Blvd. The paparazzi—both professionals and amateurs (read: anyone there with a cellphone camera)—were out in full force that evening, and I gotta give props to Gaga, who told the hordes to give her a break so she could go over to her friend and share her best wishes. Now that’s classy.

2. Astoria and LIC Street Fairs 2015

This is the second year in a row that Astorians found our simple list of street fairs to be their go-to guide to this summer tradition. We are so happy that you found it useful, and look forward to creating it for you on a yearly basis.

1. 50+ Things To Do This Summer in Astoria & Long Island City

As much as number 5 in this list was a surprise, this top post is not. Astoria and LIC are wonderlands of summer fun, and we’re proud to be part of this great neighborhood that has so much to offer folks in the sweaty season. This list of 50 things to do in an Astoria/LIC summer is always a lot of fun to put together, too.

There’s Independence Day fireworks, amazing sunsets, NPH, Lady Gaga (again!), William Hallet dressed up as Bob’s Burgers for Halloween, Kevin Bacon, and the Triboro Bridge. Can you believe we live in such an amazing place? Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!

Happy New Year, everyone! See you on the flip side…
