It’s almost the end of 2014! Hard to believe, but it’s true. Here are some great options for your New Year’s Eve celebrating in Astoria and LIC.

Alobar. “New Year’s Eve is upon on us and it’s time to decide where you want to spend your night. Are you sick of expensive, and limited prix fixe menus? Unnecessarily loud music? The impossible line to get a drink at the bar and then the bathroom? Yeah, we hate that too. Come spend your holiday with us. We will have our regular menu all night, along with seasonal specials. Come for a pre-party dinner or stay and drink the year away with our fully stocked bar. Champagne Toast at Midnight. Bear. Three-course family style Russian dinner with two seatings at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. $90 per person includes tip, tax, and open bar. LIC Market. “We are offering two seatings: a four-course chef’s tasting menu at 6 p.m. ($65, $40 Optional Wine Pairing) as well as a six-course chef’s tasting menu at 9 p.m. ($95, $60 Optional Wine Pairing). Mundo. As expected, Mundo’s NYE celebration is fabulous and stylish with their New Year’s Eve Masquerade (costumes are mandatory). Tickets are $125— 8 p.m. upstairs, 9 p.m. downstairs, and that includes food, a DJ, and a bellydancer, plus champagne toast at midnight. Off the Hook. Five-course prix fixe at $85/person. (Kitchen is open until 11:55pm) Full menu with special NYE dishes also available. After the countdown the tunes will be spinning and the drinks will be pouring till the first sunrise of 2015. On the 1st enjoy delicious brunch 1pm to 4pm. 28-08 34th Street (718) 721-2112.

Rest-au-Rant. Starting 9 p.m on New Year’s Eve, enjoy good times at Rest-au-Rant! There will be great tapas specials, live music by D.B. Rielly, free charcuterie platter for groups of 5 or more. The Bonnie. “Ring in the New Year in style this year at The Inaugural Bonnie Ball. Join us and celebrate with a three hour open bar from 9pm until midnight for $75. Hors d’oeuvres, party favors, cocktails, champagne at midnight, surprises and more. Festive attire suggested and bring your New Year’s cheer! Doors open at 8.30 p.m. To guarantee tables, we have limited early dinner reservations available between 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Please email info@thebonnie.com to secure your reservation. The Local Hostel. “Ring in 2015 like a Local! Enjoy an open bar of draft beers and wines, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and a champagne toast. We’ll have live music from five bands and other surprises. The Queens Kickshaw. “Ring in the new year with some yummy food, beer, cider, and great company! Chef Kenji is preparing a five-course meal that highlights some great seasonal ingredients. An optional five-course beer ($20) or cider pairing ($25) is available, and can be included the evening-of. All-vinyl DJ set courtesy of resident TQK musicologist Spence B starts at 10 p.m. A $5 cover charge gets you in starting 10:45 p.m., and includes a toast at midnight.” Get your tickets here.

The menu includes a golden borscht, persimmon salad, parsnip risotto, cheeses, and doughnut tree.

Here is the reservation setup:

  1. First seating 5:45 to 6:15 p.m., ending 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. ($55)
  2. Second seating 7:45 to 8:15 p.m., ending 9:15 to 9:45 p.m. ($60)
  3. Third seating 9:45 to 10:15 p.m. ($65). This last seating is inclusive of a cover charge for the music, and a midnight sparkling cider toast. Prices include tax, but not tip.

Vesta. Head to one of WHA’s favorite spots for an 80s NYE party! There will be three seatings—6 p.m. ($55), 8 p.m. ($65), and 10 p.m. ($75); tax and 20% tip are extra
. Guest will enjoy a four course menu and a complimentary glass of prosecco. If you are there for the last seating, you’ll also get a complimentary session with a tarot card reader, party favors, and a midnight toast. Z Hotel. The Z Hotel has two options for NYE revelry. From 5 to 9 p.m. enjoy a 4-course dinner with dessert and one complimentary glass of champagne. $65, call 347-6100 or email FNB@zhotelny.com for reservations. From 9 to midnight they’re offering a NYE dinner buffet with a champagne toast at midnight. Live DJ, party favors, and open bar, too, and all for $$163.59 (plus ticketing service charge).
