We’ve learned that a new restaurant/bar is opening up in the old Burger Bistro space on 31st Ave (37-03 31st Ave). Burger Bistro had its fans, but more vocal detractors, no to mention stiff competition nearby, so it’s not a surprise that it closed up shop (sometime last summer). I remember when the space was home to Chocolate Spoon, a little Brazilian Cafe, but that was ages ago. I miss that place. The biggest change to the space that is happening inside is that a new bar is being installed. We’ve learned that the people involved with this new venture are also connected to Tu Casa, which has a location at 30-10 Steinway. It is unclear if Tu Casa is moving into this space or if it’s a new restaurant from these same folks. We’ve reached out to the owners and have yet to hear from them, but we wanted you to know that something new is coming into this space. We’ll bring you more info as we get it.
