One pressing question we had was regarding the kimchi, whether or not it is made in house, and we have learned that they do indeed make it there at Don Korean—that includes the traditional kimchi as well as the mango and cucumber versions. Popular dishes include the Bibimbap and any BBQ items, like the wings and pork ribs. Looks like they have a fusiony element to it, with a Bibim Burger and Kimchi Fries.

I’m personally drawn to the Ddeokbokki, a kind of delicious Korean street food made with ground pork sausage, crispy garlic, rice cake, in korean hot pepper sauce, that is wonderfully carby and spicy (awesome hangover food). I’m also curious about the Kimchi Fried Rice. The Don Beef Soup, a beef bone soup with rice noodle, brisket, bean sprouts, scallions, onions, cilantro and hot sauce, also sounds pretty good on a cold evening like this.

At this point they are cash only, no credit cards. Their hours are Monday-Friday, 4:30 to 10 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m to 10 p.m. Delivery is up and running, too. Interestingly enough, the phone number has remained from the space’s predecessor, Astoria Sushi & Asian Bistro.

Have you eaten there yet? We’d love to hear what you think if you did—leave us a comment or a tweet!

That former Yelp link was for the Queens Don, they just accidentally listed it in Astoria, OR; the review was for the Queens location. Thanks for sharing the new link for the Queens location. I’ll make the change.

Really good. Kim Chi was delicious, but we still liked our big container of Seoul Fusion Eatery Kim Chi better :)

The owner is extremely nice, and Jap Chae is coming soon! We got the galbi/rice, bibimbap, and Kim Chi Fries. All really good!
