Another snowy and slushy day in Astoria means that lots of us are staying inside – but that shall pass soon.  Things are looking up until later in the weekend, so get out there and enjoy these fun eats!

Seva's SamosaIn case you do want to stay home, here’s a quick round-up of Best Astoria Take-Out/Delivery joints.

queens-county-market-vdayGetting ready for Valentine’s Day? We’ve put together a comprehensive round-up of Astoria and LIC restaurants with special V-Day menus, pop up markets, decadent desserts and more.

Our friend, Josh (aka The Foodie Magician) recently paid a visit to M.Wells Steakhouse.  Have you been yet?  Check out his tasty ruminations on Instagram.

vegan-pizza-tufinoWe spotted a vegan margherita pizza at Tufino (with vegan sausage and daiya mozzarella).  Looks tasty!  36-08 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria. 718.278.4800

omega-winesThis past weekend, the We Heart Astoria crew spent some time at Agora Plaza at  Omega Wines & Spirits, discovering interesting Greek wines, spirits and  liqueurs.  Their selection is extensive and opened up our eyes into the world of Greek wines – my favorite was the 2009 Oenodea, which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Agiorgitiko and Syrah.  23-18 31st Street, Astoria. 718.726.0056

natasha-pogrebinsky-bearIn some fun local food celeb news, Astoria’s very own Chef Natasha Pogrebinsky of Bear will be returning to Food Network’s Chopped for a much deserved second chance for redemption.  The episode will air on February 25th on the Food Network.  Everyone is invited to Bear to watch it together and support Chef Natasha (crossing fingers for a sweet victory).
