Ovelia beet omeletteWe’d like to give a warm welcome to our newest We Heart Astoria sponsor, Ovelia.  Being big fans of this restaurant since its inception, nearly seven years ago, we’ve enjoyed watching its transformations, which never veer off too much from the sound principles and family values it was founded on.

Headed up by Chris and Pete Giannakas,  two brothers, who call Astoria their home, they’ve  reinvented the meaning of modern Greek cuisine, which is based on delicious family recipes founded by their parents, John and Litsa.  Not only will you find the best Greek sausage (pictured above) in town  when dining here, there’s always something fun and new to explore such as their recently added menu items.  Known to be a restaurant that accommodates many different lifestyles and diets, Ovelia is a great place to come whether you’re an omnivore, a veggie, vegan or anything in between.
