Welcome to the 2013 holiday season! We’re starting off with a great list of holiday markets this year—food, crafts, and more. We’ll be bringing more holiday goodies your way, with lots of shop local suggestions, and other fun things. (Yes, 12 Days of Giveaways is coming back!) Happy shopping planning!

Friday, November 29

Rejuvenate Spa kicks off the holiday shopping season with their Black Friday Holiday Trunk Show. Stop by any time between noon and 7 p.m. to check out the eco-conscious beauty products, makeup, and spa gift ideas, all while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine. 26-17 23rd Avenue, Astoria

Thursday, December 5

The Dog and Duck pub is back with their second annual eat.shop.drink.local market. Local business and artisans will have their wares for sale from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and of course you can enjoy a drink and some grub at the pub. There will also be a collection for donations for the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. Vendors are offering a 10% discount to those donating $10 or more. 45-20 Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside

Saturday, December 7

The LIC Flea & Food Holiday Market makes its debut on December 7 and will be open Saturdays and Sundays until Sunday, December 22. Highlights include over 50 vendors selling gifts and food, live music, fresh-cut Christmas trees from the farm, and Santa! 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 5-25 46th Avenue, Long Island City

Trinity Lutheran Church is holding a Christmas Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. “We will have food and an array of items for sale (all great for holiday gifts!) as well as pictures with Santa! If you want to donate items for the Christmas Craft Fair Chance Table, let us know! The deadline for submissions is Sunday, December 1.” 31-18 37th Street, Astoria

Sunday, December 8

Sweet Afton hosts their annual Holiday Mini Market. “Christmas will be coming a little earlier this year to Sweet Afton! There will be local vendors, and we will be holding our annual raffle with tons of great prizes. All proceeds from the raffle go to Concern Worldwide.” Noon to 5 p.m. 30-09 34th Street, Astoria

The LIC Flea & Food Holiday Market will be open Saturdays and Sundays until Sunday, December 22. Highlights include over 50 vendors selling gifts and food, live music, fresh-cut Christmas trees from the farm, and Santa! 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 5-25 46th Avenue, Long Island City

The Astoria Market is running its Holiday Market on a few dates (the first one was November 10, already passed), and will be located at its home space at Bohemian Hall. The Market will be “chock-full of handmade and vintage merchandise. Eggnog, hot cider and roasted chestnuts are available for the peckish.” Noon to 6 p.m.  29-19 24th Avenue, Astoria

St. Francis of Assisi School’s Holiday Market is today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They’ll feature local food crafters and artisans, beautiful raffle baskets, food and beverages to taste, and more. They’ll also be participating in the “Sandy Claus Project,” and will collect unwrapped toys to give to children still affected by Hurricane Sandy. 21-18 46th Street, Astoria

Saturday, December 14

Sunday, December 15

The Queens County Market brings us their Holiday Market and Pie Bake-Off, taking place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Singlecut Brewery. “Shop locally produced foods made by chefs, bakers, and micro brewers and indulge in our first-ever QUEENS PIE BAKE-OFF.” The pie bake-off will “benefit relief & re-building efforts to Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) survivors in the Philippines.” $12 gets you a ticket to taste and judge the pies, or enter with two pies—a sweet and a savory. A truly delicious event! 19-33 37th Street, Astoria

Meraki Pop-Up Holiday Market is coming to Monica’s Cafe Bar. It’s Greek-focused, “The concept is to showcase young aspiring Greek designers creative point of view to New Yorkers. A small representation of their work will be held at Cafe bar as a pop up-shop for ten days. The products range from unique hand made jewelry, fashion, graphic art, product design, etc.” Market goes from Decemeber 15-24. Hours are Monday to Friday, noon to 8 p.m.;  Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 32-90 36th Street, Astoria

Just One Stop Away…

Grand Central Holiday Fair is in centennial mode this year! The focus for this year’s event is locally made and American-made merchandise, goods made by hand. It begins November 18, 2013 and runs for five weeks until December 24, 2013. Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve Day’s hours are 1o a.m. to 6 p.m. NB: Closed Thanksgiving. Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Terminal

There’s also a Holiday Craft Fair at Trinity Lutheran Church, LIC: 31-18 37th Street. It’s Saturday, Dec. 7th 10-4pm.
