Ice Cream Is Coming to 30th Avenue

We noticed that the old Pavilion Florals location is slated to become an ice cream/cafe establishment.

While walking along 30th Ave to Leli’s Bakery this morning, I saw plywood up around a storefront and it immediately caught my attention. I was also glad to see there were Department of Buildings signs on the plywood, so I took a look.

The part that really leaped out and grabbed my eyeballs is the phrase “ice cream/cafe establishment.” I took a look at the Department of Buildings record and it doesn’t give a clue as to what the name of the place is going to be. But ice cream!

We’ll keep an eye on it.

I’m sure this has NOTHING to do with Steve Valiotis using the owner of Pavilion Florals, Gus, to galvanize local business owners into a misinformed anti-plaza frenzy. I can’t wait to see what other surprises are in store around that intersection.

Totally, Ian. Especially since most of them aren’t even good Froyo. Red Mango needs to move further west or we need a Pink Berry on 30th! Or something like Malu from LIC.

Hopefully whatever pops up stands out from the Fro-Yo places that have become commonplace around these parts.

Totally excited for this! I thought they were just redoing the florist! I walk past here often on my way to work.
