Welcome to almost Thanksgiving!  With so much to be thankful for this year, especially given the recent challenges we’ve endured with superstorm Sandy, we realize now more than ever how lucky we are.  And as we get ready to enjoy some incredibly rich foods characteristic of this holiday, here’s a little sampling of the delicious food-things you can find in the nabe.

Let’s start with drinks and by that I mean Alobar’s Thanksgiving cocktail, the Pumpkin Pie Martini, which got some amazing kudos from CBS NY recently.  46-42 Vernon Blvd, LIC.  718.752.6000

Mojave’s special Thanksgiving menu includes items such as a marshmallow glazed Hudson Valley turkey; pumpkin risotto; a cranberry glazed pumpkin pie and more for $39.95/person.  22-36 31st Street, Astoria.  718.545.4100

In the mood for Thanksgiving flavors in your bagel – try Brooklyn Bagel’s pumpkin, baked apple & pecan pie and sweet potato cream cheese flavors.  Astoria locations are open tomorrow til 2 p.m.  35-05 Broadway, Astoria.  36-14 30th Avenue, Astoria.  35-09 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria.

If you’re looking to pick up a nice bottle of vino for Thanksgiving dinner, Astoria Park Wine & Spirits will be open tomorrow til 3 p.m.  They have a few local varieties available so make sure to ask for them.  28-07 24th Avenue, Astoria.  718.606.1142

And speaking of drinks, you can always hit up the Studio Square Beer Garden on Thanksgiving to help you digest that din-din.  Drinks will be 2-for-1 all day long.  35-33 36th Street, LIC.  718.383.1001
