Get excited, the Queens County Market is coming to Astoria! After stints in Sunnyside and Long Island City, this locavore food market is finally headed our way. Save the date, the next market will be October 27th at Sac’s Place from 12-4pm. Queens County Market’s mission is to connect Queens communities with local food businesses by providing a marketplace for producers to sell their goods and expand their distribution into Queens. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the local producers you’ll see at the next market:

2Penz will be bringing Keksie, German holiday cookies.

Mel’s Melting Pot is a husband and wife team living in Astoria and producing at the Entrepreneur Space in LIC. Look for their unique ketchups and condiments.

Also look for Veda Sukhu, of Elmhurst Queens, who produces sweet & savory Guyanese foods.

Mel’s fruit ketchup, aside from being tasty on hot dogs works well on quesadillas as well.
