Sure Fashion’s Night Out may be over, but Fashion Week is just beginning. Hope you get your booty in gear to spice up your wardrobe for the fall. Here are some of our personal suggestions, right in our neck of the woods.
Loveday 31 – The destination for awesome vintage garb, they have both women’s and men’s fashion and they’re fabulous at curating the best of the best. I love their updates on Facebook because they show off their latest goods, including this gorgeous Oscar de la Renta print that’s going to debut tomorrow. Who said you can’t get couture in Queens?! Loveday 31 (33-06 31st Avenue, Astoria. 718.728.4057)
KrisTees – Another interesting fashion house if you will, in Astoria, I think they’re fabulous if you’re looking for a special treat and a splurge. Their stuff is pretty high end and styled beautifully, including some of these tailored military jackets that just scream high fashion. My suggestion would be to get one really gorgeous item and pair it with some of your personal closet classics like a pair of jeans and a great looking white t-shirt that never goes out of style. Jewels of Buddha – While you may not think of this place for high fashion, there’s some pretty neat finds you can again pair with your already existing fashion classics. The jewelry in particular is really beautiful and exotic – if you’re into chunky fashion rings, I think you’ll be happy. The flowy skirts and tunics have an elegant and fluid look that you can rock on the street or even on a night out. Jewels of Buddha (31-90 37th Street, Astoria. 646.784.7875)
Baby Noir – Who says fashion is just for grown ups?! Not so, as your bebe can look really chic as well in these gorgeous clothes designed by local fashion experts. This is definitely not your run of the mill Gap or Old Navy, as you can find really unique, whimsical designs that’ll make the apple of your eye look like they just stepped off of a baby runway. Baby Noir (26-16 23rd Avenue, Astoria. 646.470.4728)
Make Your Own Fashion! – Who says you can’t be creative in making your own fashion ensemble?! With a little bit of inspiring fabric from Astoria Fashion Fabrics and some of your imagination, you can create a gorgeous wrap dress, a scarf bag, a funky head wrap or even an accessory for your pet.
