Fellow bloggers: we’d like to invite you to participate in the very first Astoria Blog Carnival next Wednesday, July 13!
So, a blog carnival… you may ask yourself, what the heck is a blog carnival?!? In the words of another blogger friend (from one of my other communities), “A blog carnival is a way to compile many bloggers’ posts about a certain topic in one place.” It’s a great way for readers to learn more about a particular topic, discover new voices in the blogging world, and it’s good for bloggers to get their work out there in a central place (as well as creating some nice traffic for them).
So, next Wednesday we’re going to hold the inaugural Astoria Blog Carnival! The subject of the carnival will be simply “Astoria, Queens.” Your post can be about any aspect of Astoria that you love – the food, the parks, the people, the shops, and more. If you write a post about Astoria, this is the place for you. And no, you don’t have to live in Astoria or even Queens to participate. Just contribute your post about Astoria, and it’s all good.
There are a few easy rules to abide by, and we’ll share them with you next week. They mostly have to do with the right ways to link to the pertinent posts. We’ll also introduce the method by which you’ll share your post in the carnival, which is a cool little widget.
So, see you next Wednesday at the carnival! And tell your friends all about it!
