One of the coolest mixers and community gatherings in Queens is Green Drinks. Organized by Helen Ho, Green Drinks provides a place to connect with like minded people concerned with the environment and community around them. It’s usually hosted by a local organization or two, and takes place at a local bar or restaurant. It’s a really good time, and a great opportunity to meet new people and hang with friends. New ideas and/or collaborations that come out of these outings is not an uncommon thing.

This first Green Drinks of 2011 takes place on Thursday, April 14th from 6:30-9:00pm in neighboring Sunnyside, at the Irish bar Molly Blooms (43-13 Queens Blvd). GrowNYC’s Recycling Office and the NY League of Conservation Voters are hosting. Here’s the Facebook invitation.

It’s a great event – hope you’ll be able to make it!
